Rapid Response: Urgent- A Weekend of Prayer for Darfur

In this season, which is Holy for so many of us, we are asking you to do something simple and sacred - feel, pray, and act - for the children, women, and men who are dying in the worsening genocide in Darfur.As we count our blessings, wrap gifts, attend beautful services of worship, and gather our families together, men, women, and children in Darfur are facing unimaginable horror at the hands of militia who have stepped up their brutal rampage of terror and killing.If you are part of a faith community - a church, synagogue, mosque, study group, meditation group or other gathering, we urge you to share this critical information with them, and ask that your congregation join with thousands of others around the nation to pray for the people of Darfur during this National Weekend of Prayer.  Please sign up here.  Further, we urge that if YOU are clergy, please devote your sermon/homily time to this critical moral issue.  If you are not clergy, please call your Pastor, Rabbi, Imam, or faith leader now and urge him or her to lift up this issue from the pulpit.
